Fab 50 Fling - Pre-Party Comments

John Martignoni
Looking forward to it...hopefully we'll get a good crowd from Huntsville and a lot of folks coming i
n from out of town as well.

Tiger Sirote

We are coming all the way from Sydney, so hopefully everyone else won't have to drive as far. Looking forward to seeing Y'all. Tiger

Scott Denton

Can someone loan me their AARP application? I seem to have misplaced mine...

Karl Roth
I have a better idea. Why don't we have Tiger fly us all to Australia. If that doesn't work out, we can probably get the Snake Doctors to play, they're kind of the house band for the pool @ Monte Sano. Charlie Howell is the guy, he's 76'er from Decatur. I'm sure Lisa knows how to set that up. If you need any help, let me know.

Candy Albright
AARP? Scuse' me, but SOME of us (Candy Albright, Van Brown, Cathy Cvitan) aren't 50 yet!!!

Margaret Ezell
I'm with Karl; I think it would be nice if Tiger would fly us to Australia now that would be a 50's celebration!! Also, before checking the comments I emailed John and Stephen on the Charlie Howell suggestion. Dang Karl, great minds must think alike or at least have the same taste in music. Scott, I will be happy to loan you my AARP application my younger husband keeps my handy, grrrrr..

Lisa Grumbles
I happen to know that those AARP cards start coming WAAAAY before your birthday. However, they send me one every week or so, so I have plenty that ya'll can borrow. I will start saving them up. My really older husband actually asked for tickets for SR. CITIZENS at the movies a couple of weeks ago and got them with no questions asked. I am not going out with him any more and I have colored my hair.

Paige McLeod
Hey, I just got free checking WITH interest because of my advanced age. There ARE some benefits!  The only negativte since my October birthday -- colonoscopy. TMI?!

John Martignoni
Grumbles, you're hilarious!!! I went to see Iron Man with my son a couple of weeks ago (good flick, by the way) and completely forgot that I was eligible for Senior Citizen rates...sorry, but I'll take cash over pride any day. By the way, maybe we shouldn't let any of the kids (those under 50) come to the party without a note from a responsible adult.

Chuck Cochran
I also will not be eligible for AARP, whatever that is, and I know that many of you old people do not qualify as a "responsible adult"! Sorry that I will not be able to make it this year but I wll be there in spirit. And Margaret, don't be so hard on yourself by comparing your mind to Karl's! haha

John Martignoni
Well, the early returns are in and I've heard from several folks who are not in Huntsville who are planning on attending: Karen Felix, Barbara Griffin, and Alice Kay Wilson - in addition to Tiger, Margaret Ezell, Hamm, and me. I'm sure we'll be hearing from more in the days ahead. I think we're going to have a good crowd of folks from both inside and outside of Huntsville. Please let me know, or just post a note here, if you are planning on attending.

Bill Bibb
Don't worry about the colonoscopy procedure it is painless. The night before the procedure, when you drink all that yukey stuff is what you better prepare for! I know. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Paige McLeod
Last comment on the colonoscopy, I promise! -- Ask for the pills ... MUCH easier. Looking forward to seeing classmates again, especially the ones who missed our 30th reunion. It was too much fun. So get in your car, on a plane or your bicycle to get here. AARP members, please see you doctor before engaging in strenuous activitity.

Lara Batchelder
I have no idea who that is in the mirror anymore. Looking foward to seeing how old YOU guy's look. Lara Batchelder from Louisiana

Sandra Adams
I will miss all of you this year -- unfortunately, I will be in Florida using my new aarp card. Good to know all the things I can use it for though. Have fun and take lots of pictures Grumbles. Please have another party next year and I will plan my vacation around it. :-) Tiger and Barry - ya'll will be missed by my girls -- they really enjoyed your personalities - and Tiger -- that accent -- don't lose it :-)

Michelle Gazaway
I wish I was coming now. Tiger will shame all of us for not coming. My excuse......busy summer and third grandchild on the way. Remember I AM one of the old ones in the group. Have fun and hugs to all. Hi Sandra Adams, never forget middle school!

Lyne Conner
This sounds like a lot of fun but I will not be 50 until late August so I wouldn't want to crash your party! Ha! Actually I will be in Houston celebrating my son's 21st birthday. I will miss seeing all you old folks but look forward to the next party. If any of you have connections with Huntsville Hospital look for my daughter. She is in her 3rd year of medical school and doing rotations at the hospital! Her name is Susan Wells. Keep her in your prayers as she does Trauma Surgery for the week of the 4th of July. What Luck!!

Bill Elliot
I am looking forward to seeing everyone too. I have an AARP form on my desk ... just can't get around to filling it out! Hope everyone is doing well. See you at the party!

Steve Glasgow
I have had to miss every reunion so far, but I'll be there for this one. It will be fun to see everyone there. Please try to understand if we don't recognize each other at first...it's been 30 years! By the way...that year book photo will not help you! Steve Glasgow

Jessica Brown
I am so sorry I will miss the party. Just like Lyne I will not reach Fab 50 until Sept but looked forward to celebrating with all my elders. Unfortunately I have just started a new job and do not have any time off. Maybe next year.... take alot of pictures and post them so those of us who will not be there can enjoy the party anyway. Jessica

Dawn Cox
I will be there and cannot wait. And for all you OOOOLLLLDDDD people I think Sue Howard and I are about the youngest in the class! I dont turn the BIG 50 until November so I am going to bring my YOUNG self to H'ville from Texas!

David Farmer
We are hitching up the Minnesota dog sled team and will be in Huntsville the big gig. Hope it is 90 degrees with high humidity so my wife will understand how rough we had it growing up in the South :) David

Lara Batcjelder
I'll be riding up on my 750 motorcycle and camping in the park in a hammock. REAL BIG DENIAL SYSTEM about the old stuff. Lara Batchelder

Mary Snyder
I will be coming up from FL. Excited to see everyone. Sandra Adams, where are you visiting in FL???

Polly Baker
I was really planning on coming, but my new husband just got selected for the next space shuttle flight and my oldest daughter is opening for Madonna in Rio. Oh well, everyone have fun.

Pat Hughes
I'll be watching Alice Cooper/Thin Lizzy in concert in Northern Sweden. I'm on vacation all summer, no, I'm not unemployed, it's one of the bennies of living in Sweden! and just turned 50 on July 12. Have been re-living my teen years seeing KISS and John Fogerty in concert. Abyssynia!

Van Brown
Thanks Candy! My Birthday isn't until the END OF SEPTEMBER, I started first grade way too young. Today I wish that Pierian Spring we were supposed to drink from, as quoted in '76, was a fountain of youth. Wonder if my buddy Debbie Reed Batson is gonna show????? Someone please call Lynn Hightower Shanks and remind her if she doesn't show "Vern" will tell all.
