11-11-10 - News from Janie Krewson:
I wanted to let everybody know that my dear daddy (Luther Krewson) passed away 7/31/09. Many people knew daddy and those that don't live around the Huntsville area may be interested to learn that. Mom still lives in Huntsville and is doing well. She's completed dad's autobiography that he worked on up until about a month or two before his death. He was 87. Mom has sent the book for publishing now. I'll send the information on as I have it for anyone interested in his WWII days, etc. We had a beautiful and very honoring memorial service for him at their church; thankfully I was able to be with him the last 2 days prior to his passing and will cherish the memories from that time forever. Daddy's exit from this earth was peaceful and just as graceful as his life. My daughter (Jenny, 22) graduated Cum Laude from the Richards College of Business with emphasis in accounting in July from the University of West Georgia and is employed as an accountant at Southwire in Carrollton. She married Jeffrey Herrin on 10/23/10 at our church in Carrollton and I am so happy to have another son now! She decided he would pass the "J" test - We're now: John, Janie, Jenny, Jeffrey, & Josh. Josh is almost 21, very active in Pi Kappa Phi and living in the fraternity house on campus at UWG. He says he'll date "through the alphabet" a couple of times before he can decide if a "J" will be for him.

It's the English version of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy called "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" starring Daniel Craig, Robin Wright and Stellan Skarsgård. Directed by David Fincher. It's a small role. I'll play an industrial businessman in the 1960's.

Classmates,
Just wanted to pass along my greetings to all, I'm wrapping up a one year deployment to Baghdad as a Navy Officer with the Reserves working in a United States Forces - Iraq Headquarters building located in one of Saddam Hussein's former palaces. To say the least it has been interesting. I've attached a picture from my deployment.
I have enjoyed reading the posted news about members of the Class of 1976 and their families and will miss the classmates who are no longer with us.
Kudos to Stephen Hamm, Johnny Martignoni, and all of the others for doing such a great job keeping the website current and providing a way for everyone to stay in touch.
I'll be heading back to Alabama and to a new home with my lovely wife, Belinda, my son, Benjamin (12), and my daughter, Rachel (about to turn 10). We will still be in the Elkmont area just north of Athens and I will return to my job back on Redstone Arsenal once I demobilize. I look forward to seeing you all at the next event.
Sincerely,
Terry Smith
