After HHS, John attended the Unv.of Alabama on a debate scholarship. At BAMA, he was involved in a variety of positions with student government. After graduating in 1980 with a BS in Marketing, he took a sales position with Procter & Gamble in Jacksonville, FL. John has been in a variety of consumer products sales management positions for 36 years with P&G, Frito-Lay, E&J Gallo Winery, and now VP in Sales with Protect Plus / Purafilter 2000 filter company.
John has lived in Tampa, FL since 1982. Married once for 32 years; currently divorced and single again. He has two children: John Thomas, GA Tech grad and CPA in Austin-TX with his wife who is doing her doctorate in artificial intelligence. And daughter, Kate, Samford University / UAB Med School grad, works as an OT at St Vincent’s hospital in Birmingham where her husband is a math teacher at Trussville Middle School. She is expecting John’s first grandchild in May 2016.
John is very active in church and has coached soccer & basketball coach for 13 years (Tampa Bay YMCA Coach of the Year in 1998).

Got married to Tracy Richardson on 10-10-20 in Pell City-AL.
Moved to Cropwell AL at the end of 2020 and now live in a lake house on Logan Martin Lake.
I work as a National Retail Sales Manager for Tri-Dim Filter Corporation.
Proud Grandfather of 3 grandchildren. They make me very happy!
Very happy to be back in AL and neat my family and friends again.
