My life over the last 30 years has been all over the map. I went to Alabama and took advantage as many “college” experiences as I could (enough said). After graduation, I accepted the job of Hartselle Junior High Band and Choral Director. I soon found out playing in the Million Dollar Band was a whole lot more fun so after 9 months I retired from teaching, headed back to school, and graduated with a Master’s in Engineering from UAH. Next I lived life as wife of a Naval Aviator for 13 years. During that time we lived in San Diego, Virginia Beach, and back to San Diego. I also started my new careers of working in Naval Intelligence and being a “mommy”. Life then shifted back home to Madison in 1992. , I snow work on missiles, first with the Army and now with the Missile Defense Command. Somehow along the way I have raised 3 kids well on their way to becoming "self sufficient units". ((Kenny (19) – a sophomore at the University of Alabama; Stephanie (17) – a freshman at the University of Alabama; and Scotty (15) – a Bob Jones High School sophomore.)) Kenny is studying Construction Engineering, Stephanie is studying Chemical and Biological Engineering, and Scotty is studying "where can I get a job at the age of 15 to make some money to buy a car at age 16". Anyway, with only 1 kid and 2 beagles still at home, I am finding other things to do than child rearing. I stay busy being on the board of the Madison Chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Association, boating at Tim's Ford, being a Tennessee mini-farm farmer, spending time at our cabin on the Elk River, enjoying neighborhood activities, and staying active at church. I also plan on making it to as many Alabama football games as I can this fall to watch my daughter as a legacy member of the Million Dollar Band! Life is good.
