Haven’t done much, really. After high school, I attended UAH, 1976-1977. Got a serious case of wanderlust and joined the U.S. Navy, 1977-81. Stationed aboard the USS Patterson FF 1061 in Florida, travelled the world from the Caribbean to the Arctic Circle, two Med cruises, Suez Canal to the Persian Gulf and back again. Came back to Huntsville to finish college. Stayed in the Naval Reserve from 1981-94. Went to Auburn from 1983-86; BA in Speech Communication (Radio & TV Broadcasting). Worked at WAFF-48, WAAY TV, and NASA TV. Did a lot of community theatre in Huntsville. Moved to Birmingham and worked for the VA Medical Center and Huntsville Outpatient Clinic, 1991-94. Offered a promotion with SSA in Minneapolis, then became main contact for nationwide recruiting INS/Border Patrol. More theater, Guthrie, Theatre-In-the Round, stage tech.for Minneapolis Children’s Theatre, Irish cabaret troupe. TV Director for the City of Burnsville...White Bear Lake community TV, 1994-2002. Met my future wife in 1999 on the Internet. She was in Sweden. Jumped off the government gravy train and got a TEFL certificate in 2001. Sold the house and most everything else and moved to Stockholm, Sweden in 2002. Haven’t looked back since. Got married in 2003. Have a wonderful wife, 3 stepkids, 2 cats and great, supportive extended family and friends. We’ve travelled to Finland and most of Sweden. Am learning Swedish and have many international and Swedish friends. Been working as a freelance Business English teacher at Swedish companies, schools and with international students in England and Stockholm. Currently work part-time teaching English at a high school, two elementary schools and an adult evening class. Besides teaching, I have been acting professionally in Swedish TV programs, commercials (nationally and internationally), feature length films, music videos, and live theatre at the Swedish Royal Opera. Oh yeah, and working with Stockholm’s oldest English speaking theatre group, the Stockholm Players. As I said, haven’t done much to speak of.
