Andy Jones, 51, passed away Sunday at his Huntsville home. Born in Fayetteville, Tenn., he moved to Huntsville when he was four. His father, James Grady Jones Sr.; mother, Wilma Hopkins Jones; and sister Martha Jones Sloan preceded him in death. He attended elementary and high school in Huntsville. He attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. He was a member of the ATO fraternity. He worked in sales in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville and did volunteer work for several organizations. He enjoyed playing sports and being a spectator. He was a devoted University of Alabama football and basketball fan. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had a unique ability to make things funny. He is survived by three sisters, Gail Duffey of Scottsboro, Pam Thompson of Pensacola Fla., Brenda Jones of Huntsville; and one brother, Jimmy Jones of Huntsville; two nephews, Wally Duffey of Scottsboro, and Doug Sloan Jr. of Huntsville; four nieces, Dana Sloan Zimmerman of Hartselle, Tamra Thompson Nelson of Gulf Breeze Fla., Kelly Thompson Vaughn of Wentzville, Mo., and Tuesday Thompson of Pensacola; three grand-nephews and three grand-nieces. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be at from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Berryhill Funeral Home. The Rev. Dean Elrod will officiate at the graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Cemetery.
