Bonnie Gaither Robertson

  Bonnie Jean Gaither was born    December 11, 1957, in Los Angeles to Vivian Maxine (Bradley) and JT Gaither Jr. 


When she was growing up, Bonnie studied ballet at Huntsville Ballet. During high school she was active in the Huntsville High Drama Club, where she was an actress and stage manager. She was also an assistant to Bob Williams’ Puppet Shows. In 1976, Bonnie became an instructor at Huntsville Ballet. That same year she was one of four students from Huntsville Ballet who went to New York to study the Leningrad method of training dancers.


In 1979 Bonnie was elected to the board of the Huntsville Ballet School. That same year she auditioned and was accepted as a member of the Huntsville Concert Ballet company.


Bonnie was first married to Jack R. Adams (probably in the 1980’s), then to Howard M Robertson Jr. (about 1996).

In 1993 Bonnie received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She had received some scholarship money from the Madison County Medical Auxiliary.


Bonnie worked as a nurse and an exercise instructor.


In 1995 she was a nurse in the cardiovascular surgery unit at Huntsville Hospital. That year she ran her first marathon in support of the Leukemia Society. Bonnie continued running marathons and training runners, all in support of the Leukemia Society, into the 2000’s.


Bonnie Jean Gaither Robertson of Monte Sano community in Huntsville, died October 21, 2022, in Birmingham. Bonnie suffered a massive heart attack on October 18 and was declared brain dead on October 21. She was transported to UAB hospital in Birmingham for the donation of her organs.
