From Scott Ramminger:
I just came across this photo I shot at 17 on a post high school graduation trip to New Orleans with my friend Randy Sacks. We hit town like a hurricane and wound up at Pat O’Briens drinking Hurricanes. Eventually we got in the Lincoln/Caddy gianormous sedan that Randy’s parents insisted we drive down there “because it’s safer” and got to Randy’s aunt and uncle’s place. Exuberantly greeting our hosts, I shattered my my souvenir Hurricane glass on the driveway, making an excellent first impression.
Later in the trip, Randy — whose driving skills were questionable on a good day —accidentally drove halfway up an exit ramp to I-10. Seeing the oncoming traffic, he channeled all the “Starsky and Hutch he had watched and somehow executed a tire squealing U-turn, barely avoiding the cars speeding toward us.
Randy’s been gone quite a few years now. I still miss that crazy knucklehead.
