March 22, 1957 – Dec. 1, 2016 Rex Kromis, 59, of Huntsville passed away Thursday. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore Kromis and Jeanette Hill Kromis. He was an Eagle Scout and member of local Troops 72 and 36. He used his learned skills as a scout to save a victim of an automobile accident. He was the best diver in the city. He won 4 city championships and then he became an expedition diver. He went to Montevallo University. He was a painter on Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville area. In the past few years he spent much of his time on maintenance and improvement of Lincoln Mill Village. He enjoyed the simple life, spinning tales, talking with friends, helping others and a good camp fire. He was a good brother and great friend. Survivors include four brothers; Theodore Kromis, Jr. of Santa Barbara, CA, Philip A. Kromis, Yon C. Kromis, all of Huntsville, and Damian S. Kromis of Madison; and his beloved sister, Denise K. Price of Owens Cross Roads and 10 nieces and 7 nephews. He had close friend for many years. The closest to him include Judy (Elaine) Hargrove, her children Crystal and Travis; Linda Campbell, her children Sean, Jesse and Josh; and his niece, Danta Price. We wish to thank them for all the care and love they shared with him over the years. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Visitation will also be preceding the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Father Mike will be officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery in Joppa.
