Huntsville High Class of 1976

A.R. "Trey" Miree, III December 21, 1957 - December 11, 2022 Trey Miree passed away at his home in Pensacola, FL, on Sunday, December 11. He was born in Huntsville, AL, to Aubrey R. Miree. Jr., and Dorothy McKemie Miree. He grew up in Huntsville, participating in a variety of sports (including PeeWee football with many who became lifelong friends) and played drums in a band called The Seeling. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1976, and then attended Auburn University. Trey worked with his father at Miree Painting Company in both Destin, FL and Huntsville, where he figured and bid on jobs for commercial painting contracts. He also supervised commercial jobs and was known from time to time to pick up a paint brush himself and jump in on the job. Trey faced many challenges in his life but through them all, he kept Auburn football, music (always playing the drums along with any song), and his religious beliefs close to him throughout his life. He cared greatly for family and was a thoughtful and dear friend to many of those with whom he shared his younger years. Some have said that his smile and his gentle manner are characteristics they remember, and the family remembers those and his kindness to others. In Pensacola, he often volunteered at a local food pantry, and even cooked for those in need on holidays. Trey is survived by his girlfriend of over twenty years, Charlotte Walton; his two children, Alexandra Renee Miree of Riverdale, GA, and Brandon Reginald Miree of Cocoa, FL; and, their children, his five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dr. Lucia F Miree and Marian M. Bevel, both of Huntsville. The service and burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery on Friday, January 6, at 11:00, with Reverend Brett Gudeman of the First Presbyterian Church presiding.
