Married to Bill Howard since June 1985, we have three children: Jason, age 20, recently joined the Navy and will be going to boot camp in November of this year (DEP). He will be training as a "special warefare combatant" (something like that) and has signed up for six (6) years;(4 years actice duty). Jesse, age 17, had spinal fusion surgery in September 2005 just (2) days after one of his best friend's from church was hit and killed by a drunk driver while he and his grandfather (also killed) were spending time together. Two months after his surgery he and his sister were rear-ended. Shelby (the only girl), age 15, is struggling with our decision to keep her away from a certain boy who is playing on her soft heartedness. I obtained a Bachelor of in English from Judson College and then an Associates in Paralegal directly after that. I am currently pursuing a business degree and perhaps a design drafting degree at night. My husband works for Qualis Engineering contracted to NASA and I work for Northrop Grumman contracted to the Army at Redstone Arsenal, AL. We recently downsized our pets to two mini dachshunds, one papillion/terrier mix, a rabbit, and we still have our same fish for over ten years (two harlequin rhasboras and two cherry barbs). 10-18-07 Update
I am now working for Engineering Management Concepts, Inc. contracted with the Missile Defense Agency. The children are now 21 (Jason), 19 (Jesse) and 16 (Shelby). Jason was deployed for somewhere around Africa on October 16, 2007. I miss him so much already. Jesse is working, in college and planning on attending acting school sometime next year. Shelby is a student at Grissom High School.
7-9-09 update
My oldest son, Jason, deployed on May 13. We have not heard from him, and don't know his location or mission. He is in the U.S. Navy. My middle son, Jesse, starts back to college this Fall at UNA, pursuing a degree in Film. My daughter, Shelby, will graduate from GHS soon, and will start college at UNA, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been unemployed since December 18, 2008, and am desperately seeking full time employment. I have a part time starting sometime this month, but really need a full time job to pay my bills.
9-8-11 update
I am currently employed with the City of Huntsville in the Parking and Public Transit department. My oldest son, Jason (age 25), is married to Theressa Elizabeth Hammonds and they have a son (age 9 months) named Hunter Ashton Howard (photo attached). Jason will be attending officer training when he re-ups in 2012. My middle son, Jesse (age 23), recently went to see a Coast Guard recruiter in Birmingham, AL, and is considering that option for his future. My daughter, Shelby (Age 20), is in nursing school, but is planning on going to officer training academy when she joins the Navy in the near future. 2016
I began working at H&R Block in 2014 as a receptionist. I am now approaching my third year as the Office Manager of Block Advisors located at 4800 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville. I am also in the process of deciding whether to purchase an existing small business or start a business of my own. My oldest son, Jason, turned 30 last month, my middle son, Jesse, will be 28 in August, and my daughter, Shelby, turned 25 in March. We traveled to Crete last year with my 4-year old grandson, to visit my oldest son while he was stationed there. We traveled to Athens, Greece first and spent a few days there before island hopping to Crete for the rest of the 2-week trip. Absolutely beautiful country and a great trip all around!
