I graduated from Calhoun's Nursing program in 1979 and have been working at Huntsville Hospital, with a couple of breaks, ever since. I started out in Intensive Care for about 10 years and then left for a nurse manager job at Crestwood. After 5 years I realized what I really loved doing was patient care and I happily returned to Huntsville Hospital. Except for a short period of time(18 months) when I lived on a sailboat in the Carribean (mostly) That was right after my 40th birthday Hummmmmmmmm
I'm proud to report I have a healthy, happy (generally) 31 year old son, who is an attorney here in Huntsville. I'm hopeful that one day he will procreate so I can experience grandparenting but as he informs me " it's not about me".
I'm currently working in the Recovery Room of a HH outpatient clinic. The hours and people are great, although waking people up from sedation sometimes feels as if I'm the last sober person in the bar at closing time. My Nurse Mgr told me this was my "to the grave job" I'm thinking "pre retirement" job, we'll see.......
I live in Five Points in a cute little house (that I bought from Lisa Grumbles' brother) with my 2 cats, oh dear, that sounds sad.
I'd enjoy catching up and I appreciate Laura Lively for clueing me in.
